Azamaerian Rain Forest
Zatine (Queen) Zephani Sizear Orail
The Azamaerian Rain Forest is as dangerous as it is beautiful and wondrous. Zatien Zephani Sizear Orail rules over the Amazons who've inhabited the Rain Forest for centuries. Zephani is the 31st of her Elven bloodline to rule the Amazons. Though it is Zephani's right to rule the wild women of the dangerous forest, they are still in fact part of the EmberVale Empire. The only men who have strayed into their territory and are permitted to live are those who have been deemed worthy enough to be used for reproduction. The men allowed to live are then treated as pets and kept in cages when not in use. An Amazon usually takes a life for the first time by her sixth year of life, once she has shed blood she is no longer viewed as a child but as a sister Amazon and her training intensifies. The children are encouraged to kill trespassers if they come across them and they are male, female trespassers are brought first before the Zatien and are tested to reveal whether or not the woman is being used as a tool by men against them. If she is not then she is permitted to two choices, to leave and return home to her life or to stay and join the Amazons...though she must start at the bottom. There is an extensive and precise pecking order among the Amazons and it makes for fewer mistakes to be made. Any woman can challenge the Zatien for her position in a fight to the death. Though in 31 generations, none have ever succeeded. Though the Rain Forest is a place full of beauty (and beauties) the forest is equip with other deadly creatures that you would be wise in being educated about before ever stepping foot inside of it. The Rain Forest indeed has creatures and beasts that one would expect to reside within it but it also has creatures and beasts that are unusual, beautiful and dangerous as well that have only ever lived in the confines of the large Rain Forest. A few of the strange and unusual creatures you will see in the Rain Forest are listed below: Gialostricus
Gialostricus get their name from their incredible size. Because of their size after three years of life they no longer have to worry about predators. They are born roughly the size of a horse and begin rapidly growing until they've reached one year of age. Then the growth slows to a more steady pace and continues to grow for the remainder of its life. These gentle giants will most likely ignore you should you come across any of them. Their hind legs face behind them, similar to a grass hopper's legs. They have regal bowing heads with short faces and testicles that act as touch receptors in order to feel, or grab something. They live in herds of twenty or so and when male's become a certain age they seek out a new herd to prevent the issue of inbreeding. They are not a naturally aggressive creature, not even when it comes to competing for territory with other herds. It simply the largest and strongest male wins the dispute. It is easy enough to tell who is the largest but when they are evenly matched then they show their strength by knocking down large trees or they will stand together and lean/push on one another until one looses his balance. The Gialostricus is a herbivore and must consume its weight in food daily, it is the one disadvantage to their size. Because of this they are in constant search for food and it makes for all the more likely of a chance that you will happen to see a herd of them. The markings on their body are commonly blue, green or brown, though there have been rare instances where the markings have appeared to be a pale yellow-white in the skin. They are warm blooded creatures that walk on their front wrists. Below their wrists are very hard bone hooks that are used for grabbing hold of trees or vegetation as well as the occasional climbing, though it is usually the smaller ones who climb. Vocci
Vocci are particularly odd creatures, they live in the branches of the gum trees. They enjoy eating the chewy bark and the sticky sap. Their legs bend backward like the Gialostricus legs but at the end of each leg is a three toed foot. Two of the long toes are webbed together and the third come out of the ankle like and acts like a thumb which makes for holding onto branches far easier. Their long tails can reach up to three feet long and the wrap them around the branches and hand hand upside down when they sleep. Their hands have a similar set up to their feet, though much smaller, the hands are made up of two webbed fingers and a flexible thumb. These warm blooded creatures are also nocturnal and have adapted to the darkness with evolving a second set of eyes, giving them four total. Their diet consists of fruits, saps, barks and insects, their face is short allowing them to better lap up the sap and crawling insects. The whiskers on their ears and face act as feelers in the dark as well. They navigate the forest by leaping from tree branch to tree branch and holding on with their magnificent feet and tail. They live in large groups known as families and have developed unique sent glands that allow them to identify who is family which keeps the Vocci from ever dealing with inbreeding. They've also developed various clicking sounds that allow them to communicate with one another over distances. They are not a hostile creature but they will bite if they feel threatened and with a mouth full of sharp little teeth, it wouldn't be a fun experience. Magentiis
Magentiis are roughly half the size of a spider monkey, they are mammals though the only trace of fur they have is a line of fur that moves from the base of the skull to the base of the tail. This four armed primate has adapted the skill to blend into its surroundings like a chameleon, the pigment of its skin adopts the colors of whatever it needs to hide itself. It survives off of rain forest fruits and nuts that it finds through out the day. It navigates the trees by swinging itself by one arm or foot to clear distances between branches but prefers to simply walk across. They are shy creatures and often taken as companions by the Amazons because of their abilities and their heightened intelligence over other primates. Their long fingers and toes allow for grabbing and delicate selection. When they are a companion to an Amazon they bond themselves to that Amazon in a similar way they bond themselves to a life mate. Kiellicus
The Kiellicus is a reptile like predator which resembles its prehistoric ancestors. It has nine small round eyes along its lower jaw on each side of its head. Because of this the creature can not look straight ahead without turning its head. The Kiellicus lays only one egg every mating cycle, which ensures the populace does not become too great. They can grow to be thirty feet tall and forty feet long, despite their height they still pose no real threat to the Gialostricus. Their front arms are long, but usually are kept huddled close to the body, and have long fingers with large hook like talons. They have four arms much like the Magentiis and Vocci. They hunt solo and become highly aggressive when they come across one of their own kind. Despite their size and their disadvantage of being unable to see without turning its head, the Kiellicus is an extremely successful hunter with large powerful back legs that allow it to run at very high speeds.
